Winter
We love our music lessons in Reception! Can you find the pulse of this song? How does this song make you feel? What instruments can you hear? The children then decided to carry on making music outside 👏🏻🎼🌟
Finding the pulse...We love music 🎶
How do polar bears keep warm? We really enjoyed carrying out today’s science experiment. The children were able to talk about how their hand felt that wasn’t covered and compare it to the one that was covered 🌎❄️
Oh no our winter animals are frozen! How can we free them?
“Let’s get a hammer.”
“I like this”
“Put it next to the radiator!”
“I’m getting some water...warm water on it.”
“Let’s fill it with water and get them out.”
Gymnastics
We are super excited each week for our gymnastics sessions.
We start each session by stretching our muscles. We know that stretching keeps our muscles flexible, strong and healthy.
Warm-Up
We know that warming up our body prepares the body and mind for the main activity. After we warm up our heart rate increases
"I can feel my heart beating faster and faster" Jaxon
"The blood is moving around my body so fast now " Eden
"The heart is a muscle , it beats all the time - when you exercise it beaters quicker" Lexi
Each week we learn new skills and movements. Over the past few weeks we have been exploring 'Jumping' . We can create a jumping sequence...
"A tuck jump, star jump, tuck jump, star jump ..." Elodie
"Pencil jump, star jump and half turn jump..." Sam
We performed our new skills for an audience ...
Cool down
We know it's important to cool down our body at the end of our exercise session. Our heart rate and breathing will slow down.
We enjoyed developing our art skills by rubbing, washing and sprinkling to create Arctic Art ...
Polar Explorers continued...Today we had great fun finding out more about penguins. We are geographers! 🌎❄️
Number Fun... recognising numbers to 20 👏🏻🌟
Miss Polly had a dolly...
Polar Explorers
We have started to find out about the Polar Regions- The Arctic and Antarctic.
The children are learning to identify these regions on a world map. We have set up an arctic tray and a antarctic tray for the children to explore and enjoy.
