We are going to investigate how absorbent different materials are.

Collect the following materials from your house:

- cloth or sponger

- plastic bag or plastic cup

- foil

-cardboard or paper

- cotton wool (or cotton pad/bud)

If you don’t have all of these don’t worry! Just use what you can.

Steps to follow:

1. One at a time, submerge each object in water.
2. Observe what happens- note anything down.
3.  Squeeze the object and see how much comes out!
