Week 11 (Wk Beg 15.6.20). World Refugee Week begins on 15th June 2020. The Birthday Girl ©Martha Shepherd & Saurav Shahi

This week is a nationwide programme of arts, cultural and educational events that celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK. The week encourages cooperation and communication between communities and, especially at the moment, emphasises the need of all communities to provide support and space for those in most difficulty. This is a unity we need, and an acknowledgement of our common humanity.
This year the theme is ‘Imagine’. Watch one of these three amazing videos, Blanket of Love, The Birthday Girl and The River’s Path, and imagine what it is like to grow up through a war, or to have your birthday in a strange new land where you don’t even speak the language.
