Please use the template below to help you write the final verse of the poem.

Handwriting

Please encourage the children to use their neatest handwriting when writing the following words.

Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes .

We celebrate Our Lady’s first apparition to Bernadette in Lourdes, France today. Bernadette showed great trust in God and enormous perseverance – especially when things were really difficult for her.

Please help the children to know and remember the story of St Bernadette and to learn from her example – especially at this time, when things often feel hard and the future, sometimes, uncertain.

Here is a PPP on St. Bernadette.

It tells of the time when Our Lady first appeared her.

Choose one of the following – or both if you like! Write out a prayer card for the Hail Mary in your best handwriting and decorate it beautifully.

If you still have time, Colour the picture of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Don't hesitate to ask if the children heard the word « lapin » which means « rabbit » and « le jardin » which means « the garden »

Game idea : print pictures of the animals and location that we learnt, hide them in the room, when the pupil finds one, he or she can try to say the correct French word (if he or she can't remember the French word, tell him or her the answer)
