RE New Life

Our RE theme this half term is ‘New Life’.

In the first half of the term the children will hear that Jesus was raised to new life on Easter Sunday.  Before the holidays the children experienced the preparation for Easter in the classroom.  Now they will learn how Jesus went back to his Father in Heaven and promised his friends that one day they would also be able to go to the Father.

There will be lots of opportunities to investigate the new life they see all around them in the springtime.

You can help your child by:

  • Following the events in the Children’s Bible
  • Finding opportunities to point out to your child the signs of new life in the garden, the parks and in the fields (new lambs, calves, etc.)
  • Pointing out the signs and symbols in church, especially the Paschal candle which is a sign that Jesus is alive and with us

This is also a good time to share some little practical activities connected with the garden or, if you do not have a garden, planting up of window boxes, etc.  At bedtime, include prayers that thank God for the new life we see around us.

During the month of May we think about Mary the mother of Jesus by saying the special prayer ‘The Hail Mary’.

May the Month of Our Blessed Mother

We honour Mary each day - During the month of May we especially remember Mary the Mother of Jesus by offering prayers and songs And praise for her ‘Yes’ to God.

In Reception we have enjoyed making miraculous medals and writing prayers to honour Our Blessed Lady. We enjoy praising Mary through Songs and Prayers .

As we approach Earth Day Reception have be thinking about how we can continue to look after God’s beautiful planet 🌍

Pope Francis has written a letter addressed to every person on the planet, asking us all to protect the earth. Will you play your part to protect our common home?

We reflected on Pope Francis’ message about looking after the world.

Following on from our Laudato Si Collective Worship we planted sunflower seeds and tidied up our school grounds by doing a little pick πŸŒπŸ‘πŸ»πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸŒΏπŸ˜‡β˜€οΈ
