Databases in Computing

 Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed learning about the International Space Station. They especially enjoyed a virtual tour of the space station. Following this lesson, the children explored the importance of collecting data from space and how it helps us on earth.

Plants

 The children have been so engaged learning about plants! They noticed that one of our classroom plants wasn't growing very well, so during their playtime- the children gave the plant a little love and care!

The Dragon Slayer

 The children enjoyed learning about The Dragon Slayer. They watched the story and in groups mind-mapped the events in the story. 

Direction in Maths

 In Maths, the children learnt all about position and direction. The children needed to use the language forwards, backwards, clockwise and anticlockwise to direct the bee bot. A lovely practical way to apply their mathematical skills!

Map Making in Art

 The children learnt all about how maps can inspire artwork. The children combine Geography with art and created a map all about their journey to school. 

Informal Letter Writing

The children have written fantastic letters to the Incredible Book Eating Boy- they have learnt all about subordinate conjunctions, adjectives, adverbs and interesting verbs in their writing. 
 

Red Day

The children took part in Red Day, to celebrate the importance of sport. Year 6, along with United, led the children in a carousel of activities. A fun day all round!  

Judaism Week

The children had a visit from Simon Caplan, who taught them all about the Jewish religion. The children learnt all about Shabbat and enjoyed looking the important items in Judaism. 

TTRS Rock Star Day

The children enjoyed celebrating Times Table Rock Stars Day. They dressed up as rock stars, designed and costed their own outfits, played on TTRS and explored times tables outside. 

 

​​​​​​Fractions in Maths 

Year 2 worked hard learning about representing half.  The children created two equal parts on a variety of shapes.

 

The children enjoyed their visit to Blackpool Zoo. The children were able to apply the knowledge they had learnt in Science - to the animals they could see in the zoo. The children focused o whether they were mammals, ampibians, reptiles or fish. What a lovely day!
