Class Missions – Living Out Our Faith
Through their missions, the children focus on living the Gospel message—whether that is caring for God’s creation, standing up for fairness, reaching out to those in need, or building community within the school. Each mission is a chance for pupils to grow in love, service, and responsibility, following Jesus’ example in their daily lives.
Our theme this half-term is
Stewardship
We believe in caring for God's gifts
‘The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work on it and take care of it.’
Genesis 2:15
Stewardship is all about caring for the many gifts that God has given to us. These include our environment, our own talents and other resources. All living things are connected, so we must use God’s gifts responsibly to meet the needs of everyone, now and in the future.
Reception – Caring for the EYFS Allotment Area
Reception’s mission is to look after the allotment area in the EYFS area. By caring for God’s creation, they are learning to show respect for the world around them and to be good stewards of the earth.
Year One's mission is to care for the playground and make sure it is a happy, safe, and welcoming place for everyone.
Year Two's mission is to look after their conservatory area by being good stewards of the resources and space they share. This reflects the Catholic Social Teaching principle of Stewardship of Creation, encouraging them to treat their classroom with respect and gratitude.
As part of our stewardship mission, Year 3 will be taking care of our school allotment. We will be tending to the soil carefully and propagating a range of plants and flowers. We are looking forward to observing the beauty of the natural world and thanking God for this mission. We can't wait to see what we can produce with God's help!
As part of our stewardship mission, Year 4 will be taking on the responsibility of caring for our school allotment. This will be a real challenge, as we will need to prepare and look after the soil, nurture young plants, and ensure they grow strong and healthy. We will work with determination to grow a range of plants and flowers, learning the patience and perseverance needed to care for God’s creation. Through this mission, we hope to produce something wonderful with God’s help, while recognising the beauty and responsibility of looking after the natural world.
As part of their stewardship mission, Year 5 will be taking on the important responsibility of caring for our school grounds. They will be collecting litter and helping to keep our environment clean and safe for everyone. By looking after God’s world in this way, Year 5 are showing respect for creation and living out our school values through action and care.
Year 6- As part of our new Leadership roles, it is our mission to care for God’s world and for one another. We will lead with kindness, serve with joy, and use our gifts to make our wonderful school and Parish family stronger. With God’s help, we will be good Stewards of Creation and show our Faith through Action every day this half term.
