RE Branches

We invited Mrs Bailey (William’s Grandma) from our parish and school community to come in and speak to us about what it means to her to be a friend of Jesus. We listened very carefully. We enjoyed hearing all about Mrs Bailey’s faith journey of growing closer to Jesus and spreading the good news.

We shared the story, ‘If Jesus came to visit me’ and told the children that Jesus loves His friends to talk to Him.

We imagined that Jesus was coming to visit us. We recorded some questions they might have for Jesus.

Jesus, would you like to play football or cricket with me? William

Jesus, what is heaven like? Edie

Jesus, would you like some cake? Hattie

Jesus, can we pray together? Rowen

Jesus, do you like it when we sing ‘Our God is a great big God’?

Jesus, would you like to have dinner with me? Ethan

We have enjoyed making 'Heart of Gold' awards for our friends...

Visit from Simon – Learning About Judaism

We were delighted to welcome Simon, a Jewish visitor, to our Catholic school for a special talk about Judaism. Simon shared fascinating insights into his faith, including Jewish traditions, beliefs, festivals, and the meaning behind some of their customs.

He spoke about the importance of family, prayer, and community in Jewish life, and explained significant symbols such as the Star of David and the Torah. Our pupils had the chance to ask thoughtful questions and learn how people of different religions can respect and celebrate each other’s beliefs.

Simon's visit was a wonderful opportunity to deepen our understanding of another faith and to reflect on the shared values between Judaism and Christianity, such as kindness, charity, and faith in God.

During our prayer session,  we released our butterflies into God's wonderful world ...

God's Beautiful World...We enjoyed picking the strawberries from our allotment area and then eating them in the sunshine!!

St Peter

With our Golden Box, we shared the story of Peter walking on the water . We know that this story is all about Jesus asking Peter to trust him – even when he is afraid. It also shows that sometimes trusting and following Jesus can be difficult – especially when we are afraid – but most importantly of all – Jesus never leaves His friends when they need him. We know that anyone can be a friend of Jesus – even people who are afraid – they just have to ask Jesus for help, and He helps everyone.

Using the Golden Box we shared the story of Jesus calling Peter a rock on which He will build His church. We Know that Jesus wants Peter to do a very important Job was going in spreading the word about Jesus – just like rocks do a very important job in buildings.

Peter told lots and lots of people all around the world about Jesus and became the first leader of the Church – the first pope.

Mrs Murphy shared her photos of spending time with Luce in Rome- They enjoyed seeing Pope Leo

We shared the story of Jesus forgiving Peter. As it’s the Month of the Sacred Heart we know that an important part of Jesus’ love for His friends is that He always forgives us when we forget Him or do something wrong – all we have to do is say sorry and He will always be our friend.

We each collected a fish gem and thought about a time when we made the wrong choice and said sorry. We place the fish into a bowl of water.

We know we can show ‘Sorry’ in different ways… We made sorry cards to send to Jesus for times when we have not been kind. We decorated the cards and put them on the prayer table.

We have collected rocks and discussed why we need them – what are they like? Strong, rough, smooth, big, small. The children explored stacking rocks – how many can they stack? We enjoyed decorating the rocks for our Prayer garden....

During the month of May we enjoyed honouring Mary our Mother

The Lord is risen, Alleluia! God his Father gave Jesus new life on Easter Sunday.  ‘Alleluia’ is the Church’s special Easter word meaning ‘Praise God’.

We used our Golden Box to retell the Easter Story

‘Don’t be alarmed,’ he said. ‘You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who

was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid

him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into

Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you’” (Mk 16:1-8).

We shared our Easter Good News by sharing our pictures on Tapestry from home

We talked about Easter and the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. We Listened to the story of ‘Jesus lives’ (CD Stories & Songs of Jesus).

We know that Alleluia means Praise God

We sang…

Alleluia Alleluia Praise the Lord

Alleluia Alleluia Praise the Lord

As we listen to his story and we Praise him for this Glory

Alleluia Alleluia Praise the Lord
