Celebration of the Word
At All Saints’ Catholic School, we joyfully come together as a faith-filled community to celebrate the Word of God. Through prayer, scripture readings, and reflection, our Celebration of the Word helps us to deepen our relationship with Christ and live out the Gospel values in our daily lives. These gatherings provide a meaningful opportunity for our children and staff to grow in faith, share in the richness of God’s Word, and strengthen our Catholic identity as we journey together as disciples of Jesus.
During our KS1 Celebration of the Word, we listened to St Matthew’s Gospel and heard the story of how the Angel visited St Joseph. We talked together about how special Joseph is. The children described him as strong, quiet, caring and kind. They noticed how he protected Mary and baby Jesus and looked after his family.
Although we do not hear Joseph speaking in the Holy Bible, we can learn a lot about him through his actions. By listening to God and caring for Mary and Jesus, Joseph shows us what it means to be loving, brave and faithful. He reminds us that sometimes we show our love not only through words, but through the good things we do for others.
At the end of our Celebration of the Word, we prayed for the special men in our lives who care for us, guide us and protect us, just as St Joseph did.
During our Celebration of The Word today we listened to St John's Gospel.
When Jesus met the woman at the well, He showed something very important about how He treats women. In those days, many people did not think women were very important and men often did not speak to women in public. But Jesus was different. He spoke kindly to the woman, listened to her and shared God’s truth with her.
Throughout His life, Jesus treated women with respect and love. Women followed Him, helped support His work and were brave witnesses to what He did. Some women, like Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of Jesus and Martha and Mary, were close friends of Jesus. They learned from Him, served with Him, and shared His message.
This story teaches us that Jesus cares about everyone. He loves to talk with us, help us, and fill our hearts with His living water-His love and life

Jubilee Icons
As part of our Jubilee celebrations, we were delighted to welcome the Jubilee Icons to our school today from Holy Family School. The Icon is travelling around the schools of the Diocese, and we are blessed to host it for a few days before it moves on.
The Icons are photographs of a beautiful stained-glass window in Shrewsbury Cathedral, depicting The Visitation, the second Joyful Mystery of the Rosary. This scene shows Mary visiting her cousin Elizabeth to share the joyful news that she is expecting Jesus. The Icon was blessed by Bishop Mark at Easter and is now making its pilgrimage to every school in the Diocese of Shrewsbury.
We welcomed the Icon with a torchlight procession alongside Holy Family School. Two Reception children, dressed as Mary and Elizabeth, greeted the children as they arrived. We then gathered as a whole school for a Celebration of the Word.
During its time with us, each class will have the opportunity to learn more about the image of The Visitation, taken from one of the Margaret Rope windows in the Cathedral, and to spend time in prayer, reflection, and contemplation.
