Waxworks Museum
Our Waxworks Museum, held as a special Lent fundraiser, was a fantastic success, and Year 5 were absolutely brilliant! The children worked incredibly hard to learn their lines and bring their characters to life, showing confidence, creativity, and enthusiasm throughout. It was wonderful to see their dedication shine in such an engaging and meaningful event. I am so proud of each and every one of them for their effort, teamwork, and positive attitude—they truly made the experience unforgettable while supporting a great cause.
World Book Day
Today Y5 wore some magnificent costumes to celebrate World Book Day. We shared our books with Y5 and Nursery and joined in with a whole school parade.
Geography
This term, we have been learning about the important cities of the United Kingdom and where they are located in relation to one another. Today, we explored the counties of the United Kingdom. We used the eight compass points to help us identify and describe where the different counties are located.
Computing
Continuing our work on the Mars Rover project, we learnt about how computers communicate using binary code. We explored how information can be sent and understood using only zeros and ones.
P.E.
In Dance, we learnt about Dance by Chance. We explored movements to counts of eight and experimented with different ways of travelling and improving our choreography. We also shared feedback with one another to help develop our ideas and performances.
English
We are learning about performance poetry. We performed the poem 'Empty Head' by Malick Fall.
Science
We looked at our potatoes to see how they were getting on.
Computing
We learnt about the Mars Rover and how NASA were able to communicate with it.
We welcomed in the new term with snow!
