Flamenco Day

The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Flamenco Day, embracing the opportunity to learn about and experience a different culture and its traditions. Throughout the day, the children showed fantastic enthusiasm as they practised and performed their flamenco skills, growing in confidence and enjoying the experience together.

There was some wonderful teamwork on display, with the children supporting and encouraging one another as they learnt new movements and worked collaboratively. It was lovely to see the children proudly showing off the skills they had developed and celebrating each other’s achievements.

Flamenco Day also provided a valuable opportunity for the children to learn about and appreciate different cultures, helping them to recognise the beauty and diversity of God’s world family. Through music, dance, and shared experiences, the children reflected on how we can celebrate and respect traditions from around the world.

Parachute Games in PE

The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in parachute games during PE, showing lots of enthusiasm and energy throughout the session.

As part of the activity, the children linked their learning from Maths by practising and identifying clockwise and anti-clockwise movements while working together with the parachute. This helped to reinforce their classroom learning in a fun and practical way.

There was lots of fantastic teamwork on display, with the children encouraging one another, listening carefully, and working together to make the activities successful. It was wonderful to see such cooperation, enthusiasm, and positive communication throughout the session.

Computing - Movie Trailers

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed creating movie trailers inspired by a variety of different film genres. The children explored the features of films such as adventure, comedy, mystery, and fantasy, thinking carefully about how trailers build excitement and capture an audience’s attention.

Using their creativity and imagination, the children planned exciting storylines, characters, and dramatic moments to include in their trailers. They enjoyed working together, sharing ideas, and bringing their creative visions to life.

The activity provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to develop their communication, teamwork, and digital skills, while having lots of fun expressing their imaginative ideas.

Exploring the Stations of the Cross

The children enjoyed taking part in a range of activities at each station, approaching each one with care and thoughtfulness. As it was a solemn occasion, the children were respectful and reverent throughout, showing maturity and understanding of the importance of the event.

As they moved around the different stations, the children took time to reflect, listen carefully, and participate meaningfully in each activity. It was lovely to see them showing such respect and consideration, while engaging thoughtfully with the experiences provided. The children demonstrated excellent behaviour and reverence, making us very proud.

Recounting a Bible Story

Year 3 have been learning about what happened when two disciples met Jesus on the road to Emmaus after His resurrection. The children explored the story and reflected on how the disciples felt as they walked with Jesus without realising who He was at first.

Through discussion and reflection, the children thought carefully about the moment the disciples recognised Jesus and what this teaches us about faith, hope, and trust in God. They enjoyed sharing their ideas and deepening their understanding of this important Bible story, making thoughtful links to how Jesus is present in our lives today.
