Our Stewardship Mission

As part of our new Leadership roles, it is our mission to care for God’s world and for one another. We will lead with kindness, serve with joy, and use our gifts to make our wonderful school and Parish family stronger. With God’s help, we will be good Stewards of Creation and show our Faith through Action every day this half term.

 Prayer and Liturgy -The Eradication of Poverty

On Friday, these Year 6 children prepared a beautifully reflective Prayer and Liturgy Service marking the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

They encouraged us to think about how poverty affects families and children around the world, and how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Through prayer, Scripture and discussion, we reflected on the words of Jesus: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Thursday Prayer Service

On Thursday, our Year 6 class gathered together for a beautiful and thoughtful prayer service to remember our special friend Tyler, who sadly passed away two years ago.

Jesus told his friends that even when he was gone, they didn’t need to be afraid — because his peace would always be with them.

This week we remembered that same promise.
We believe that Tyler is now in the peace of God’s loving arms — a peace that never ends.
When we miss him, or feel sad, we can remember that love never disappears. It stays in our hearts.

We prepared the service ourselves around the themes of comfort and peace, and together we reflected on the light and joy Tyler brought into our lives. We shared prayers, readings and moments of quiet reflection, giving thanks for the memories we hold so dearly. A candle was lit in Tyler’s memory, reminding us that his light continues to shine brightly in our hearts.

We were honoured to be joined by Sue Perkins, one of our school governors, who shared in this time of prayer and remembrance with us.

During the service, we also prayed for Tyler’s family, for peace in the world — especially in the Middle East as the Peace talks begin — and we remembered St Teresa of Avila and Blessed Carlo Acutis, whose examples of faith and trust in God inspired us to live with hope and kindness. We have celebrated their Feast days this week.

We were so delighted that so many people attended our service! Word of our Mission has spread in Missio Week.

Prayer and Liturgy -World Mental Health Day

We reflected on God's plans for us in our class prayer session. We heard from 

A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians (Philippians 4:6–7)

“Do not worry about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

We remembered that:

We remember that God made each one of us in His image — body, mind, and spirit — and He wants us to live with peace in our hearts.
Even when life feels hard, we can always turn to God, who listens, comforts, and strengthens us.

Thursday Prayer Service-St Therese de Lisieux

We gathered today and reflected on the work we have done inspired by St Therese de Lisieux. 

                                                  
   
Bible Buddies

We shared Bible stories with our Reception Buddies to help to foster a love for God, reading and encouraging a sense of community. Through our kindness and enthusiasm, as Bible Buddies we can inspire our buddies with positive values and teachings. It's a special time for us to come together to learn, grow, and connect.

 

Thursday Prayer Service

 Joseph and Lana led a beautiful Prayer and Liturgy celebration of the Word on the theme Mary, Our Mother. With reverence and confidence, we shared Scripture, reflections, and prayers that reminded us of Mary’s faith, courage, humility, generosity, resilience, and silence in prayer. Through artwork, some beautifully chosen music and the spoken word,  they showed Mary’s example and her special place in God’s plan.

We respond by striving, like Mary, to say “yes” to God in our daily lives, showing courage when faced with challenges, humility in our actions, generosity in our service. Together, as a school community, we placed our own prayer intentions before Mary, asking her to watch over us and guide us ever closer to her Son, Jesus.
