RE

Prayer Service – Remembrance Day

We remembered all those who have fought and died in the many wars. We prayed for those we have loved and lost.

Prayer Service – Mary

During this special month of October, the Month of the Holy Rosary, we gather to honour Mary, the Mother of Jesus and our Mother too.

Class Mission

Keeping up with our class mission of keeping our playground tidy. Well done Y5.

Celebration of the Word

This week our Celebration of the Word is linked with International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

Faith, Hope and Love.

We have been exploring the virtues and discussing how this might look in everyday life. We acted out our ideas to share with the class.

We have been learning to pray the Rosary.

Prayers for the Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels
Celebration of the Word

This week the theme was forgiveness. We read from the Bible and talked about the message that it gave us and what this message means for us.

Moses and the Burning Bush

The children were excited to see their work displayed.

As part of our stewardship mission, Y5 will be taking on the important responsibility of caring for our school grounds. We will be collecting litter and helping to keep our environment clean and safe for everyone. By looking after God’s world in this way, we are showing respect for creation and living out our school values through action and care.

Moses and the Burning Bush

As part of our RE lessons, we read the story of Moses and the Burning Bush. We responded to this story by creating our own artwork.

Celebration of the Word

Our prayer leaders planned and delivered this week's Celebration of the Word. The theme they chose to explore was joy.

World Peace Day

On World Peace Day, we came together to think about what peace means for our world, our community, and ourselves. The children reflected on how they can be peacemakers in their daily lives—through kindness, forgiveness, and understanding. Their work shows their hopes and prayers for a world where everyone can live in harmony.

Whole School Values

We have been reflecting on the meaning of our school values and asking God to guide us in living them out each day.

Celebration of the Word

Our class prayer leaders planned and led a collective worship on the theme of peace.

The Ten Commandments

Together, we reflected on which Commandment is the most important. In our groups, we considered why the Commandments are such a vital part of living God’s way and even wondered if there are any we might add today.

Saint Carlo Acutis

Carlo Acutis was a Catholic teenager from Italy who loved computers and used his skills to share his faith online. Carlo was kind, cheerful, and always tried to help others, especially the poor.  Very sadly, he died in 2006 at just 15 years old, but he inspired many people by showing that young people can live holy lives in today’s world. In 2020, the Church declared him “Blessed,” and in 2025 he was officially recognised as a saint – the first millennial to be canonised.

The Holy Trinity

Through our artwork, we explored and shared our understanding of the Holy Trinity.

8th September - Our Lady's Birthday.

We wrote prayers to Our Lady and made ornaments which we used to decorate the tree in the hall.

Creation and Covenant

We wrote prayers to God thanking Him for our wonderful world. We prayed that He would help us find ways to keep our planet healthy for the next generation.

New Beginnings

We started our new year by reminding ourselves of our school prayer.
