Spring

Science

In Science, the children put their scientific skills into action during an exciting ‘poo hunt’. The children investigated clues found in poo to help identify herbivores, carnivores and omnivores, discussing why poo is useful evidence for scientists. They recorded their observations in a results table and linked their findings to the objective of describing the simple functions of the basic parts of the human digestive system.

Online Safety

In this Year 4 lesson, children designed an online safety poster exploring the importance of thinking before you click. The children discussed how to stay safe online, identified potential risks, and shared clear messages to help others make safe and responsible choices when using the internet.

Times Tables

In this Year 4 Maths lesson, children took part in a partner quiz linked to times tables. They used their multiplication knowledge to test each other, while exploring the commutativity of multiplication and recognising that numbers can be multiplied in any order to give the same result.

New Playground Equipment

The children enjoyed exploring the new playground equipment, showing excitement and enthusiasm during playtime. They demonstrated the school value of kindness by taking turns, encouraging one another, and making sure everyone felt included and safe while playing together.

DT

In DT, the children proudly completed their finished frame structures using marshmallows and sticks. They applied what they had learnt about stability and strength to create models that were secure and well-supported. The photos below show their final, stable structures and the care, teamwork and problem-solving that went into bringing their designs together.
