RE

Our Year 3 pupils planned our Celebration of the Word.  They chose to explore God’s love and how we can love others.  We studied the Bible Verse 1 John 4:19, ‘We love because He first loved us,’ and said a beautiful prayer.  We talked about the special people we love and how we can show that love to them.  Thank you for such great leadership, you did a fantastic job.

We continued our exploration of the Fruits of the Spirit in our special Celebration of the Word this morning. We gathered together in God's name and lit a candle to welcome His presence. We reflected on Galatian's 5:22-23 and thought carefully about the desirable character traits we can develop by being faithful to God.

Year 3 have been learning that, unlike other living things, humans have been made in God's image to be just like Him.  We know that we have been blessed by the Fruits of the Spirit such as kindness, gentleness and self-control.  Our thanks are to God.

Today we looked at the symbols in Genesis and found their meaning. We learnt that Adam and Eve represent the first man and woman, the snake is a symbol of evil and the garden is a symbol of a special place.  Year 3 created their own Garden of Eden posters  by applying their knowledge of the symbols represented.  Well done Year 3.

We were delighted to be invited to a special Celebration of the Word with Mrs Murphy.  We came together to show thanks to Our Mother Mary and listened to the Gospel of St Luke 1:26-38.  We prayed the Rosary together and thought carefully about why Mary was blessed.  We left by thinking about how we can be an example of Mary, how we can help someone in need, be kind and look after our world.

As part of our stewardship mission, Year 3 will be taking care of our school allotment.  We will be tending to the soil carefully and propagating a range of plants and flowers.  We are looking forward to observing the beauty of the natural world and thanking God for this mission. We can't wait to see what we can produce with God's help!

In our Celebration of the Word, we have gathered together as part of God's family to think about trust.  We listened to a Bible reading from Luke 16:10-13 and thought about how we can do small things carefully to show God that, 'One who is faithful in very little is also faithful in much.'

Year 3 were absolutely delighted to choose our prayer leaders for this term.  They have already started to lead us in our daily prayers and we are very thankful to them.

This term Year 3 have been learning about the Creation of the world and have revisited the Creation story written in the book of Genesis.  We have celebrated and praised God for our wonderful world and written a prayer of thanks outlining all of the things we are grateful for.  We are deepening our understanding that humans are made in the image of God and have listed how we can honour God by looking after our physical and spiritual bodies.  We have thought deeply about how all people should be treated equally and with dignity.  We are thankful to God our beautiful world, friends, family and pets.
