PSHE - Healthy Relationships

We shared different statements and decided if they were friendly or unfriendly. We talked about how we can show kindness and have healthy relationships.

Art

In art we have continued looking at the artist, Paul Klee. We looked at our own portraits and add shapes, we also learnt about organic shapes, shapes that are irregular and natural flowing.

Music

The children have been learning about pulse (the heartbeat of the music) and rhyme (the pattern of long and short notes in  pulse).

Spanish

This week we met Senor Lopez. He introduced himself and shared information about where he is from, his hobbies, family and favourite foods. We began saying some words and look forwrd to our lesson next week.

World Mental Health Day

We shared the story 'You Be You' by Linda Kranz. We then used our photographs to create our own portrait pictures to celebrate who we are. We are unique and are proud to be!

Geography – Learning to Use a Map

In our Geography lesson, we took our learning outside and explored the playground using maps to guide us. Each group was given a map with marked locations, and we had to find hidden pictures placed around the area. This fun activity helped us practise our map-reading skills. It was a great way to enjoy the outdoors while learning more about geography!

Computing - Decomposition

We have been learning about algorithms and today learnt about decomposition, breaking something down into manageable instructions. We created our own pictures and then broke them down into steps, so our friends would be able to recreate our picture in the correct sequence.

Maths - Numbers to 20

In our maths today, we made our own number tracks to 20, counted forwards and backwards from 20 and other numbers within 20. We finished by making our own class number line. Not only working on counting forwards and backwards, but also supporting our fine motor control, number formation and ordering numbers. A great lesson in the sun.

Some little clips of children independently learning today. Using Numicon to create numbers to 20, constructing with Lego (great for fine motor control) and sorting objects into the senses we may use to identify them, linked to our science topic this half-term.

Art - Paul Klee

We have been looking at different types of lines in Art. We learnt about an artist, Paul Klee who listens to music and when creating his artwork. Today the children listened to four very different pieces of music and created their own artwork using different types of lines and media. A lovely calm afternoon with everyone focused and enjoying their learning whilst listening to music.

Science - Taste

The children had great fun using their sense of taste in science.

Maths - 1 less than

Maths

We have been looking at counting amounts in maths using manipulatives.
