Critical Worker Places
We currently have waiting lists in most of our year groups for in-school places for the children of Critical Workers.
We are so grateful to our families for requesting in-school places as critical (key) workers only when absolutely necessary, when there is no-one else at home to care for your child.
We know this is often difficult for families who are trying to work from home and appreciate you following the government guidance, "(key worker) parent/carers should keep their child at home if they can".
Since the start of this term we have had vey many requests for in-school provision for children and, in most cases, have been able to accommodate these families. Should demand continue we may be forced to reallocate placed based on the following criteria:
1. Single critical worker parent working in health/social care/education/emergency services
2. Two critical worker parents
a. both working in health/social care/education/emergency services
b. one of the two parents working in health/social care/education/emergency services
3. One critical worker parent working in health/social care/education/emergency services
4. Working in other sectors
a. single parent critical worker
b. two parent key workers
c. one parent key worker
(Single parent is defined as where a parent lives alone with the child(ren) and other parent does not provide childcare)
Within all the categories, we reserve the right not to offer a place if your child can be cared for at home.
Please note, in addition to the many children of critical workers, we are also obliged to accommodate those children who meet the potentially 'vulnerable' definition according to the Department of Education.
